Vacancy Notice - Walkerville Council Member Ward 1
A vacancy in the office of Walkerville Town Council Member Ward 1 will be filled by appointment, pursuant to Montana Code Annotated 7-3-4218. The following timeline has been set for filling this vacancy:

-Letters of interest due by 5PM on Friday, February 6th, 2026.
-Appointment will be made at regularly scheduled Walkerville Council meeting at 6PM Wednesday, February 11th, 2026.

Those eligible and interested in serving should send a letter describing their desire and general qualifications to Mayor John Ries by mail to:

To be eligible for appointment, you must have continuously resided in the Walkerville city limits for a minimum of one year prior to appointment, must currently reside in Ward 1 (north of Daly Street), and must be registered to vote in Silver Bow County.

The Walkerville Study Commission meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:00PM at the Walkerville City Hall, 40 West Daly Street.
